My grandmother Katie Earls, emigrated to the United States between 1912 and 1920.  She was born and raised in a small two room house on the Woodlawn House Estate.  She and her family as well as the home are well described in the 1901 census.

Earls family, Coppenagh  Census Information

Katie’s parents were John and Mary (Carr) Earls.  Her siblings were Bridget (Bea), John, Mary, Patrick, Thomas, Maggie (Peg), and William.  At the time of the 1911 census all the females were out of the home.  I know that Katie, John, Bea, and Peg all emigrated to the United States.  Their mother Mary followed after their father John’s death.  I’m not sure of the status of Patrick, Thomas, and William.

In the posted article, “Butler’s Boy Revisits” Mr. Trappe remembers “Tom Earls.”  My great uncle, Tom Earls was born in 1898, Mr. Trappe could be remembering him or, possibly, his son…..I don’t know.  I know the small house still stands.  (EIR H53 K2F5),

John, Bea, and Peg had no children.  Katie had two, Caroll and John.  Carroll had two boys and one girl, numerous grand children.  John had five boys and one girl, 15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
