Rock Bridge
Rabbit Burrow Road
B. Doherty
Located close to the ice house are two simple single arched bridges. One has been altered during the construction of the public road. The bridge closer to Woodlawn House appears original. This is known locally as the Rock Bridge. There is no parapet wall and protruding stones on the underside give a simple, rusticated appearance.
Rabbit Burrow Road
These bridges were part of the thoroughfare known as Rabbit Burrow Road. They once linked the big house to the fish pond (GA086:242) and ice-house (GA086:243). The 25” Ordnance Survey Map (1897-1913) shows this route clearly.
