Go Wild Camp

Woodlawn Heritage Group, in association with Birdwatch Ireland, Heritage Week and  Galway County Council  hosted a Go Wild Nature Camp for Children aged 7 – 10 years. This highly acclaimed camp got children out in nature in a fun filled and educational manner. Children from Galway City, Gurteen, New Inn, Ballymacward, Bullaun and Kilconnel national schools took part.

Woodlawn N.S doors open briefly

The camp was based in Woodlawn National School with visits to Woodlawn Woods, and a nearby river. Many of the parents were past pupils of Woodlawn N.S. and were delighted to see the doors open again, if only briefly!

This FREE Go Wild camp was made possible thanks to Birdwatch Ireland, The Heritage Office, Galway County Council, The Heritage Council, Heritage in Schools Specialist Bernie Doherty and Woodlawn Heritage Group. Special thanks to Fr. Pat Kenny for permission to use Woodlawn N.S. See our Photo Gallery of the camp. If you have any pictures you would like included please contact us.
