At Castlebin North, Recorded Monument GA086:074 (Ringfort) is typical of ringforts in this area of East Galway. Located at the junction of Clooncah Road and the New Inn/Kilconnell Rd, this monument commands views all round, in particular to the south and west where similar ringforts are visible. This oval uni-vallate rath measures 51m x 34.2m and is defined by the low stoney bank measuring on average 0.4m. A 4m break in the north east portion of the bank is indicative of an entrance.
